Let us begin saying this is the first game alphabetically for the NES, and a little background: Published by Nintendo, ported from Japan. The first ever slightly realistic football game that was originally an Arcade game in Japan in 1983. Brought over to the US & NES in 1985. I played it for awhile, and it’s pretty straight forward. Option offense, and one of two defender choices off the same play on defense. It’s pretty easy to work out a winning play that gets you your first down if you run it four times. I imagine this game was great back in the day and if you want to try it out for fun go for it, but you’ll get bored after awhile and will probably never play again. Other football games especially for the SNES like Tecmo will have the classic zone in this territory…I think it’s safe to say that there won’t be any 10-Yard Fight tournaments going on anytime soon.
